Lead Carbon Specialist

Andrew joined RSSB in May 2018 to support the work of the Rail Industry Decarbonisation Taskforce. He was the technical author for the taskforce’s final report which was published in July 2019, and is now working on shaping the framework for delivering the Taskforce recommendations assigned to RSSB.


Andrew developed his passion for corporate sustainability in the Hong Kong Government, where he worked in municipal and chemical waste management, land use planning and development, nuclear safety, aviation security, emergency response management and prisoner rehabilitation. He now has over 30 years’ experience in environmental and sustainability policy making, strategy and advisory roles, both in-house and as a consultant to UK and international companies, working in a diverse range of sectors including transport and logistics, construction, civil engineering, natural resources, retail and media.


In a previous consulting role, Andrew co-wrote RIA’s first sustainability strategy, but cannot take credit or responsibility for what has happened since.


Andrew has degrees from Liverpool and Bath Universities, once held a patent for a very efficient irrigation device and was appointed a Fellow of IEMA in 2018.
